GrumpyOM: I've never understood why these druggies always allow the officers to search their vehicle when asked.

gollum: Because if they don't, it's considered an admission of guilt. Then they hold you there while they bring Fido out to do his trot-trot sniff-sniff(Good dog! Here's yer biskit!).

gollum: I've been through something similar while driving my work van. Seems the cops had a report of someone selling drugs out of a late-model white van at a location I was parked near(in a late-model white van).

gollum: They held me up for 30 minutes while they called for Rin-Tin-Tin to get his biskit. Their BS reason they pulled me over for was "We clocked you at 38 in a 30". Which I knew was crap from the get-go. They said they had my speed locked-in on the radar.

gollum: I told them I wasn't buying that, since they could have locked anybody's speed in and claimed it was mine. I was dry and clean at that time. And driving the company van, I was careful about speed limits. So, if one consents to search, all's well.

Mr Rusty: If you don't allow an officer to search your vehicle and they have reasonable suspicion your carrying drugs they tow your car and apply for a search warrant. That's why you let them search your car

GrumpyOM: That from experience? lol Think it may vary state to state somewhat.

Mr Rusty: On an episode of COPS a guy was pulled over and refused a search. That's what the cop said to him, don't recall the state.(he gave in and let them find his drugs sooner rather than later)
