Hope I do not get it, I just want a stable PC, updates scare the hell out of me I've had problems before, I rather not have updates. The biggest threat to my PC is windows updates, not viruses! Interesting news though.

I had to reinstall Win 10 *again* today, about the 6th time in the last year.
It is a joke, but not a funny one.

When its time to get a new computer, I'm switching to a Mac. Windows 10 has been nothing but one problem after another.

Mind you they are expensive. Maybe I will have to see if I can install and older windows version, but that is a lot of hassle to do. Mind you I really have had enough of it now.

I use my 4 year old laptop to post here and a few other places. It's a DELL and came with with Windows 8.1. ..Regrettably, I updated it to Windows 10 OS. Wish I had 'overs!' There's NO going back!

I am appreciative of those of you who keep reminding me to NOT INSTALL WINDOWS 10. I am still using windows 7 Ultimate on this computer and have very few problems with the OS. However, I fear this PC is about ready to take the long nap and I will be forced to go with something else. Not looking forward to that day. Keep hoping that it will be "fixed" before I have to make the change. I liked my custom-built that I used for several years, but alas, my builder moved several states away and when it went down, it dropped like a rock from an airplane. It was built with dual harddrives to prevent losing everything. Extreme power surges are kind of tough on them.

My 'almost new' PC updated to windows 10...it's never ran again! Keeps saying 'no connection to monitor'.
Someone 'supposedly' from Microsoft keeps calling my daughter telling her she needs to update the firewall on her laptop. Wants her to allow him access to it so he can fix it. Am I only being overly suspicious or does anyone else feel the same?

IF YOU call them, they will assist, but I don't believe they will initate contact. Sounds like a scam to me.

That OS has been rendered entirely obsolete. It's a "dual core," also. I really loved its performance. My favorite of all-time was Windows XP 2001!! Before that, Windows 95. ....I use a 10' tablet most of the time now. It's cluttered with crap-ware, to beat HELL!

My computer is about 4 years old, it came with win 8.0, I upgraded to win 8.1, and then regrettably to win 10, which has been nothing but problems for me so far. I am hoping it will be more stable after the last update the creator update, I had to remove my wifi card to install it I hoping that improves things but it is too early to stay, I have been have to reinstall windows every 2-3 months since I "upgraded" to win 10.

I have another laptop with Windows Vista. It's kind of a shallow, flimsy OS, but it beats hell out of Windows 10, in its simplicity! Watching its task manager, I can see that WIN 10 is constantly trying to commandeer my other one. I've set it up to run browsers as "Administrator," and that takes care of most of the trouble, ....except for some minimal program "incompatibility" issues.

There is a lot not to like about win 10 but there is not much you can do about it unless you want to spend a fortune on an Apple. For me win 10 was a backward step, nothing but problems!

Windows 10 on these long downloads has twice knocked out my Norton's anti virus. Last night another long download, I finally went to bed and let it run. This morning Norton's is still in there but the computer is not running right. My first computer had windows 95 and then 98, ME, xp, vista, 8.1 and now windows 10 Junk. Windows XP I thought was a good operating system, when they got it right they changed it.
