Grumpy Cat, a feline that found fame on the internet, has died. The news was posted to the cat's twitter account. "Despite care from top professionals, as well as from her very loving family, Grumpy encountered complications from a recent urinary tract infection that unfortunately became too tough for her to overcome," a statement said. Grumpy Cat died Tuesday morning. "Besides being our baby and a cherished member of the family, Grumpy Cat has helped millions of people smile all around the world -- even when times were tough," the statement said. Grumpy Cat was 7. Ahh shucks,he wasn't very old. We had a cat for 16 years before I had to have him put down.
Just read the link...my adopted cat Thomas had a UTI before I adopted him, son and I took him to the vet when he got to where he was passing blood and could not even walk. Antibiotics and a two day stay w/the vet and he was fine...we just got him in in time. He recently got it again but caught it early when I noticed a really strong odor of ammonia from his litter box, online and then a vet by phone said it could be another UTI. Found a vet that made house calls and she said it was a UTI. It had been four years since the first bout and the vet then said that neutered males have a greater tendency to develop UTI's. At any rate (actually a high one), his box smells much better and be is far happier.

Aww, I hope she's found the warmest patch of sunlight by the Rainbow Bridge.

Maybe he's just been very lucky. I wonder if it's the same for females... Have to google.

Male cats in general are more likely to get UTIs.

Oh no ! We have cats vaccinated against that disease here Here too, especially here on my property. It's in the soil the vet said.(Probably) So I'd made sure to keep his shots up to date, but for some reason the vet failed to give him the leukemia one with the last batch. Needless to say, he's no longer my vet!! He was a beautiful big bobcat! Mixed with Siamese. Mean as the devil himself....
