Anyone read that novel? There is so much hype over the flick that it's totally unreal. Word is movie theaters are sold out already. I'm tellin' ya.

It was very poorly written. Sort of like a harlequin romance gone rogue.
The premise is fine, its titillating and perhaps interesting for the sexually milquetoast to get a peak at a different sort of sexuality as expressed in the book.
I don't plan on seeing the movie.

I have no desire to read soccer-mom porn.

It really is porn with poorly written romance on top. I only read it recently to see what all the hype was about and was really surprised that it was sooooo popular with the soccer-mom crowd. Yeah it has kinky sex but as apple said, its harlequin romance gone rogue. Its popularity tells me that there are a whole lot of sexual repressed people out there.
I have no urge to see the movie.

"50 Shades Of Grey" glamorizes domestic violence every bit as much as any rap song ever did. I guess it's cool as long as you're into intimidation, domination & sexual aggression toward women Hell, it's just a book & soon to be movie.....enjoy! I'm not sayin' some of it ain't sexy.... It just seems to send the wrong socially, sexually, acceptable message toward women, IMO. Anyone beeeotchin' about women bein' sexual objects to be used for a man's sexual pleasure & likes this book/movie is a hypocrite. Let the flamin' begin......

I read a Harlequin Romance once when I was much younger. It had to be one of the worst things I had ever read. The fact that some people eat this stuff up leaves me scratching my head.

This book/movie, in its own silly way, instead glamorizes BDSM, a far different thing since that is all about consent and mutual fulfillment in its own weird kinky way. The woman clearly gets her jollies the same way the guy does and puts a stop to it when it crosses the line into pain and violence. I guess it's cool as long as you're into intimidation, domination & sexual aggression toward women Which is why I am surprised it is such a big seller. Some of it is way beyond a little kinky playing around. But it must have tapped into the dark side of a whole lot of people's psyche.

The film & book are for women from what I hear. Yes, men are not allowed to purchase the book or get into the theaters showing the movie.
