A Vermont skydiver who lost his prosthetic leg during a jump has it back, thanks to a farmer who kept an eye out for it and spotted it in a soybean field. Double amputee Chris Marckres of Hyde Park went for a jump Saturday at Vermont Skydiving Adventures in West Addison and lost one of his prosthetic legs after leaping from the plane. “I think my adrenaline was so high and I was just so excited, I didn’t realize I had lost it,” Marckres told NECN and NBC10 Boston. Marckres, who was harnessed to an instructor, landed safely. He then put out the word out on social media that he’d lost his leg, reports the AP. Farmer Joe Marszalkowski saw the post before finding the prosthetic on Sunday in a soybean field. Beyond a few scratches, it was undamaged. “You’ve always got to keep an eye out,” said Marszalkowski, who compared the discovery to a needle in a haystack. He said he was grateful he found the leg without running it over with a machine during the fall harvest. “Or, God forbid, the combine sucked it up—it would’ve destroyed it,” Marszalkowski said. Marckres said losing his leg turned into a positive experience. "We kind of take for granted sometimes how many truly good people there still are in the world,” he said. here

I was scared to click on this thread, lol!
Glad everyone is okay and that Marckres got his prosthetic back in one piece.

In Eagle Creek (beautiful Indy park with a huge lake) divers had to search for a woman's prosthetic leg
I think that they found it.

Yes, I know Indy's Eagle Creek area there is a nice jogging trail located there, but since the Monron Trail opened in 1996 most people use that for jogging, in fact at one time Indy's Monon Trail was so busy it was listed as the busiest jogging trail- or one of the busiest trails in the nation in Runner's World Mag. I never seen Eagle Creek Lake just the big dam that is along the Interstate, but the jogging Trails are all around that area.. Indy has been for years working on a system of jogging trails, Fall Creek trail is one of the oldest. ("Indy's Greenways" is what they call it) The Monon Trail was built on an old train track right of way, the drawback is there are street crossings. I ran it a few times when I was in Indy, I parked at the Marsh parking lot on 86th street and jogged north into Carmel. I'm way off topic. oops.

As for the leg- Those Prosthetic limbs are pretty darn expensive but I have heard of things like that happening before.

I've been to Eagle Creek dozens of times over the years.
My sons went to summer camp there.
I've kayaked and sailed on a Sunfish.
The woman was so grateful to the firefighters who retrieved her prosthetic that she brought them food...including a platter of chicken legs.

It shows that Disney was correct- it is a small world after all. I never thunk in my wildest dreams that flan was in Indy, guess she lives there I used to visit Indy alot in the 1990's. One thing I miss in Tulsa is the Meijer stores and Mennards Lumber yards & home centers- they don't market in Tulsa.
