November 12, 2010 LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — An Arkansas Alcoholic Beverage Control Division official is looking into possibly banning certain alcoholic energy drinks. Director Michael Langley told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette he began gathering information on drinks such as Four Loko a few days ago. His action comes after the states of Michigan and Washington banned the fruit-flavored, caffeinated malt liquor. The bans came after college students and others became dangerously drunk on the drinks. Wholesale Beer Distributors of Arkansas director Steve Higginbothom said he's also researching the products. Higginbothom said wholesalers will suspend sales if Langley finds evidence the product is dangerous. www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-ap-ar-energydrinks-ark,0,7874873.story
