I just finished a very different sort of sci fi novel, The Speed of Dark. Its told from the POV of an autistic adult who has to make the difficult choice of staying as he is or risk taking a new treatment that will "cure" his autism. It gives a very believable and moving first person look into the life of someone with autism. The Author, Elizabeth Moon, is the parent of an autistic child. I found it a very moving story and think it gives what seems to be a pretty realistic portrayal of what it might be like to be autistic.

The book does sound good, But I don't have much time for reading right now. I normally just read non-fiction books.

I am a long time reader of science fiction stories (I read a LOT, and not only science fiction) and, having worked with autistic children in the past, this is one I will have to read.

Hey BB, since you are a science fiction fan, maybe you (or someone else) can help me out. Many years ago, I read a book about a very rich old man who had his brain transplanted into the body of a young woman. It was a really good book that I would like to read again, but I cannot remember the book's title or author.

Being a male reader, I naturally gravitated toward Heinlein's works.
