What's he going to call it this time "The Dulling"? Cut me some slack Jack. Stephen King is getting to be as bad a Stephen Hawking.

I just tossed in my opinion. I'm no fan of Stephen King. What's he going to call his book? He already used the name "Shining"? My suggestion would be to call it "The Dulling" or "Dullsville" #533dl9#

I suspect he doesn't read ANY books actually.

Of course not. Too many words and not enough pictures.

That is cool. He is one of my favorite authors, and The Shining was an awesome novel. Personally, I don't think he will ever write a better single novel than The Stand, but will look forward to this book! I think he reached his absolute pinnacle with The Stand - everything that came after was a letdown. They were good books, although some were much better than others (The Cell, The Dome, just to name two.) But for the most part everything he's written since The Stand was never as good as the books he wrote prior to and including it. I'll never forget reading excerpts of Salem's Lot in Cosmopolitan magazine back in the fall of 1974. That book was FANTASTIC at the time (only to be ruined by the lousy TV movie that followed it.) I've been reading every word he's written since then (except for the Dark Tower stuff, which sucks majorly.) Even the Bachman books. I thought The Shining was a much better book than the movie, but that's true for just about every movie ever made from a Stephen King book or story with the exception of Stand By Me.

I normally just read non-fiction books anyhow- or political books. I read books from Mike Savage, Laura Ingrham and I wanna read Monica Crowley's new book "What The Bleep Just Happened?" I also like science books- Non-fiction are my kind of books..

If you like science books as you claim how is it you constantly display a total lack of scientific understanding?

My introduction to King was in the March 1977 issue of Penthouse. In it was the short story, Children of the Corn. After reading that, I became a fan. I couldn't get enough of his storytelling.
I agree with springschick that The Stand is his best work. After the publication of Firestarter his output seemed to triple. As a result, I believe his writing suffered and his books and stories lacked the crispness, pacing and imagination of his earlier works.
That prolific output also made it difficult for me to keep up with him for a time.

No Ann Coulter? No Michelle Malkin? No Glenn Beck? No Bill O'Reilly? No.....Oh hell......Who else is in that group of asses? If non-fiction is your preference, why then are you reading those people? Or listening to them?

The sequel to The Shining is called Doctor Sleep. I read a chapter from it yesterday. It was included with the novella In The Tall Grass.
I really do enjoy having a tablet and reading e-books. I did not think I would, but I do.
