There are times in the course of my deliveries when I have time to kill until the shop is opened. These occur often enough and vary in duration, (at times as much as half an hour) allowing me to get a bit of reading done. Along with my other necessities of the road (soda, munchies, CD's, cigarettes....), I always carry a book.

Which has what to do with books? It's a quote as related to the thread title. Not very catchy is it!? I think he made that up and thought it clever. Peace, OHD

It's a quote as related to the thread title. Yes, thank you very much! It still had nothing to do with books or authors. Context, you know.

Will this work as far as context:
"I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book." -Groucho Marx

That's one thing I won't ever get. When I want to read a book, I want a BOOK. With PAGES. I agree, unfortunately, there are no book stores around anymore. I always have an unread book in my kindle (on my phone) The back lighting is easier for me to read now.

That's one thing I won't ever get. When I want to read a book, I want a BOOK. With PAGES. I felt that way, too, until I got one. Same here. Now I love my Kindle! There are so many free and very low cost books available. I never would have read most of the books I've been reading lately without the Kindle. I've downloaded a bunch of history books, short stories, novels and have had to pay for very few of them.

That is a great feature - I love the low cost books. My library does not have a great selection of things I want to read, but on my tablet, I can get them dirt cheap and not have to worry about returning them.

Yup. Since I got my Kindle I have downloaded 30 books and paid less than $20. Most have been either free or 99 cents. One would have been $25 for an actual hardcopy book but was $8 to download. The savings are incredible!

The most I have paid is $13.99 for a brand new release. I used to pay upwards of $25.00 per book. Plus, I don't have to worry about finding a place to store all of my books, since there is very little room in my place.
