EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Minnesota Vikings owner Zygi Wilf made the move Monday morning that many fans called for during the fourth quarter Sunday afternoon. He fired coach Brad Childress. The NFL team announced Childress, 54, has been relieved of his duties. Defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier, 51, has been named interim coach and will serve in that capacity for the remainder of the season. Wilf did not indicate whether Frazier would be a candidate for the permanent coaching job and, as of Monday afternoon, no replacement had been named for Frazier as the 3-7 team's defensive coordinator. Frazier made it clear Brett Favre will remain his starting quarterback. seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/seahawks/2013498325_childress23.html

Perhaps the Vikings would also do good by removing their quarterback also. It has appeared to me that Mr. Favre has become more of a distraction than an asset. Such a shame to see one of the great ones drag himself down.
