Several years ago I discovered Jane Auel. What a discovery it was! The first was Clan of the Cavebear. It hooked me! Then, Valley of the Horses, The Mammoth Hunters, Plains of Passage, & Shelters of Stone, the last one Land of Painted Caves, which will be the last in the series I haven't read yet. I hate to because it will be the end.

I've never read any of her books. But I did enjoy the Clan of the Cavebear movie. Maybe I'll check her out.

These are the kind of books that you hate to see come to an end. It's like saying bye to friends. I couldn't wait to get the next one & start reading it.

Oh too many to count.
Favorite author:Julie Garwood Favorite series (still running) of books: the Dark series by Christine Feehan Favorite short series (ended) of books: Toss up between the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning and The Twilight Series by Stephanie Myer (I like supernatural stuff) I was FULLY expected NOT to like either series, because I am not a big fan of 'first person' novels. But I was hooked after the first couple of chapters. The only two series of books I've read that were first person. Favorite book: The Bride by Julie Garwood. I just fell in love with Jamie and Alec Kincaid. That book never gets old for me. And I've read it at LEAST a dozen times.

The book I'm reading/have read are teen books, so I'm not going to post them here. I scoffed at people who were obsessed by the series. I thought...yeah right...teenage vampires...love story...first person. Whatever. I held off for a couple of years. Then about the time the first movie was supposed to be released, I finally said what the hell...I'll try it after some friends of mine told me I HAD to buy it. At that point all 4 books had been released. So I bought the bundle for my Nook e-reader. I think I blew threw all four books in less then a week. Crazy I know...but they were very well written.

Crazy I know...but they were very well written. In which way?? Because I think they're horribly written. Well for starters, it was very easy to understand what other characters were feeling or thinking, even from a first person perspective. That is not easy to do. Which is why I shy from first person novels to begin with. I typically want to know all the characters involved...not just the one in first person. The flow was pretty consistent from one book to another and the storyline progressed gradually without jumping all over the place. A lot of series books can get bogged down in side plots, side characters and other story lines but I was happy to see the focus of all the books were Edward and Bella. The characters were well developed even for teenagers and brought to mind many feelings I had when I was a teenager. The book was geared for tweens and young adults...but I still had fun reading them. *shrugs*

My daughter and I are currently reading a trilogy of books called "The Hunger Games". Also written for young readers. It's a little gruesome at times, but well written and the characters are well developed.
Anyone else read them?
