I've lived here for 20 years and have never seen a stray cat. That all changed a few weeks ago. apparently someone dumped a load of cats off here, I've counted 7. I called animal control and tried to get them to pick the cats up. They informed me there was a new law regarding cats and they were now called community cats and they were protected. They would pick them up and give them shots and neuter them but they would have to bring them back here where they came from. I bought a big bag of dried cat food....on my second one now and I feed them. I've been told, you're creating your own problem. Maybe so but they act like there starving.
WE have some crazy laws here...Kentucky

Yeah, there's a young couple across the street from me. I noticed that they have a small doggie house on the porch and two doggie bowls. They have two dogs but they let them out in the backyard where it's fenced in, the front is open on all these yards. So I think I'm not the only one feeding them. I'll regret it I'M sure.
I have a little black poodle he will be 9 soon. He's blind and has one eye removed. He gets 2 insulin shots a day plus eye drops. I can't put him down he's like my kid.

I had to put my bobcat down several years ago. He had feline leukemia. I just couldn't watch him suffer.

Yes, you can become very attached to pets. Absolutely! Their love is UNconditional & I get very irate when I see an animal being mistreated.

I remember when my first cat died, I had to take a day off school I was inconsolable, never been without one since though.

It's like Belle said pets love you unconditionally. Pets don't know how to lie. So if they love you, they love you but if they don't like you, you know it.
