I don't want summer to ever end. I have noticed that many trees are dropping their leaves already they must feel a chill in the air as September gets ready to rear it's frosty head. I hate the thought of winter. I noticed the Sun has really moved quite a bit to the South, it no longer shines into my small bedroom window like it did in June. Where is a CHILL coming from!!? # # You try to tell me you know all about GW & how it's not happening, how it's all a hoax & scam, but you don't even know that the trees are dropping their leaves because of the extreme HEAT!!? You think they feel a CHILL?! #thud0lj# Because Belle, it's The change of seasons, as the Sun moves farther & farther south it's rays get weaker and more slanted so the sunlite is not as strong. Trees depend on sunlight to make photosynthesis when the sunlight gets weak the trees change their color and drop their leaves. The amount of daylight is also getting shorter. The days will keep getting shorter & shorter until December 21st... This heat is not extreme, it's normal weather of August in the Southern states, there are normally a few 100 degree days per year, the year's rainfall total is still pretty high from all the rain & flooding Oklahoma got earlyer in the year. I'm no tree expert, but the shorter hours of Daylight & slanted rays of the sun are what make the trees lose their leaves & change color when summer is over.

SK, the trees are dropping their leaves because of the extreme heat and lack of rain here in Okla., not because it's going to turn winter. What lack of rainfall, the yearly rain fall total is still above normal, don't ya remember all the flooding & rain we had a couple of weeks ago? Tulsa gets around 28" of rain a year.

It doesn't take but a few days of 100+ degrees for the trees & shrubs to get dry. The only showers of rain have been very scattered and quickly falling apart. There is NOT a chill in the air!

You need to stick to something you KNOW. Southern temps,..it's NOT one of them.

First of all, I would LOVE it if there were a chill in the air. The past few days, it has been too hot to sleep. And we here in the Springs have gotten a ton of rain. Way too many 90+ days here - NOT normal!

Trees start to change their colors & drop their leaves when the days get shorter and Sunlight gets weaker. Anyhow, it's cold now we're in the 60's or something and Cloudy. I hate it. I like it brite, warm & Sunny with blue skys.

Trees start to change their colors & drop their leaves when the days get shorter and Sunlight gets weaker. True...but we're not in that stage yet. Where are you? I thought you were in Tulsa now. We're still in the upper 90's here in Ar.

It did NOT get cold, it got a little cooler. The day temps dropped into low 90s and nights were down in the 70s. Not bad at all. today it was 100+ again and we were under a severe heat & fire danger.

The trees in the area should be accustomed to the 100 degree weather, the dry spells and the wet spells- otherwise they would not grow here. I like 100 degree weather with loads of SunShine and I'd like to have it all year. I guess the 10+ years I lived in Texas spoiled me. I don't like it cold at all. I also don't like cloudy days I find them depressing. Weather is a personal thing, we each like something differant I guess.

The 70's are bit chillie, even more so with a wind blowing- you can't do any swimming when it's in the 70's. The best swimming & beach weather is when it's 90 degrees and wamer. I like 100 degree days with night time lows in the upper 80's or lower 90's. Everyone has A/C anyhow so it does not really matter what it's like outdoors.

Everyone does NOT have AC. There are people dying all the time because of the 100+ degree weather and no AC. Get a clue, SK, the hot temps are dangerous.
