I'm currently reading "To Hell and Back" by Doctor Maurice Rawlings, a professor and practicing cardiologist, surgeon. This is to balance "Proof of Heaven" et al, for me. Doctor Rawlings studies NDEs and OBEs of dying people.
Fascinating and a good counter balance to all the positive experiences and glimpses into Heaven by NDEs and OBEs who report nothing but a benevolent God and eternal bliss who reassure us that no one can do anything unforgivably wrong.
This doctor relates experiences of Hellish deaths of visions of terminal patients, and those who report seeing and experiencing vivid glimpses of the fiery realm and burning rings or pits of the actual 'literal hellfire and brimstone!'
Peace,
OHD

I do believe there is nothing God won't forgive you for. Doesn't mean you won't have some sort of hellish punishment though. Although I do not believe in an eternal Hell.

My sister bought me, "Proof of Heaven". I haven't read it yet. Did you? Yeah, it's a very interesting book! Very well written but let us say, 'not entirely objective.' I won't give anything else away. Read it. It's fascinating! #7# Peace, OHD Edited to add: Doctor Rawlings wrote the book, "To Hell and Back." in 1993. He died in 2010 at the age of 87. I wonder where the good doctor will "spend eternity."

Just finished rereading an excellent book about Viet Nam called "Long Time Passing". It was originally written around 1985 but was just updated and new chapters put in. If you've ever wondered what happened to the "children of the 1960s" this is a great book to begin with. It covers everything - the soldiers, the draft dodgers, those who sneaked off to Canada, the mothers, the wives, the children....very thorough and written very interestingly, it won't bore you.

Hmm in the last month I've read the Gospel of Judas, The Gnostic Gospels of Phillip, Mary Magdalene and Thomas, the Forbidden Books of the New Testament, LZR-1143 Infection, LZR-1143: Within, LZR-1143: Perspectives, The Wives of Henry the Eight and Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove. I am now reading A Short History of the World by HG Wells.

They include gospels related to Mary, Jesus as a child, numerous letters written by Paul, Barnabas, and a bunch of folks I had never heard of. Interesting reading. It was a free Kindle book.

I read the Gospel according to Thomas, once, and there was so much in that book that just did not ring true or wasn't in keeping, with the narrative styles of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. I had trouble with The Book of Mormon, and others for similar, intuitive (as faith goes) feelings. Peace, OHD

I just ordered "Killing Jesus," on Amazon, by Bill O'Reilly. I'm very curious. I don't like the dude, but he is obviously intelligent and probably writes a mean book, but I hope he doesn't use ghost writers. Pace, OHD

Prolly not since he deleted his account. And what have you got against caves? Sometimes I wish I lived in a good ol' cave. A nice dry one! I would want cave wall to cave wall carpet though!
